Most of us don't like change, and it is easier for us to be in our routines and continue on the same path. However, change is a necessary part of growth. As part of our series "Walking in Right Relationships with Others and Ourselves", we will look at how we can embrace changes in our lives for growth and self healing. Good mental health is key to embracing changes in our lives.

Our group is open to all LGBTQ Iranians. All of our meetings are a stand-alone, so feel free to attend any of the meetings anytime from anywhere in the US or in the world.

National Coming Out Day. October 11 is National Coming Out Day (NCOD).

Coming out is a lifelong process and can be particularly difficult in the Iranian community, where it is surrounded by feelings of guilt, shame, rejection, and moral judgement.

While coming out is by no means easy, it is liberating and gives you a chance to discover yourself and have a deeper connection with those that matter to you.

On a bigger note, NCOD is also a reminder to our broader Iranian allies to come out and support your LGBTQ friends and family members. We’d love to have you on that journey with us.

Everyone’s path is different. That’s why it is important for you to come out when you feel ready. There is no pressure for you to come out on this day. It is just a friendly reminder that when you’re ready to take that big step out, you have a community waiting here for you.

If you want help, Raha and @cce.ccc conduct a monthly support group. It is a great place to work through your emotions in coming out or even if you are already out.

October is LGBTQ history month. Back in the 1990s

October is LGBTQ history month. Back in the 1990s a group of Iranian LGBTQ came together to found the Los Angeles chapter of Homan, an organization dedicated to helping Iranian queers. One of the founding members is Albert Maghbouleh, who is in this clip. Also featured in this video is Parisa Parnian an Iranian visual artist and activist who has been working in queer spaces for more than two decades. This post can in no way detail all their accomplishments and contributions to our Iranian queer community. Thank you both for all that you have done and continue to do for our community. We are so honored to be partnering with these two pioneers for our Mehregan celebration this Sunday ❤️💕🥰
